This Foldable Apple Device Might Not Happen Anytime Soon

There’s been a lot of talk about a big foldable device from Apple lately. But now, the Apple foldable device delay is starting to raise questions. This wasn’t just another product. It was supposed to be something bold. A 20-inch foldable screen sounds exciting, but things don’t seem to be going smoothly.

What’s Going Wrong?

The idea is cool, no doubt about that. But a massive screen that folds in half feels futuristic.

But then you think about actually using it.

A device that big? It’s not easy to carry. Even when folded, it’s still bulky. And durability is another issue. Foldable screens still struggle with creases and long-term wear.

You wouldn’t want to spend that much money and worry every time you open it.

A smaller foldable actually feels easier to imagine. Something like a foldable iPhone just fits better into daily use. I ended up thinking more about that and wrote it down here Foldable iPhone 2026.

Why Apple Might Cancel or Delay It

Apple usually takes its time. You’ve probably noticed that already.

They don’t jump into trends just to keep up. They wait and refine it, and then they launch.

So if something doesn’t feel ready, they’ll hold it back. Simple as that.

From what reports suggest, this device just doesn’t offer enough real-world value yet. It looks impressive, but does it actually make your life easier? That’s the question Apple seems to be asking.

What Apple May Do After the Foldable Device Delay

A smaller foldable makes more sense. Something like a foldable iPhone feels easier to imagine, right?

You could actually carry it. Use it daily without thinking twice.

At the same time, Apple is putting a lot of focus on improving what already works. Better chips. Smarter AI features. More refined displays.

That feels like a safer bet for now.

When you look at it this way, it doesn’t feel like an isolated thing. It’s probably part of a bigger plan Apple is working on. I wrote about that in a bit more detail here – Apple 2026 Roadmap Leak.

Bigger Picture: Foldables Still Aren’t Perfect

Even today, foldables feel a bit… unfinished.

They’re expensive. Slightly fragile. And honestly, not everyone needs one.

Maybe you’ve thought about buying one and then stopped yourself. That hesitation says a lot.

Final Take

This foldable project isn’t completely gone. But it’s clearly not ready.

And that’s very Apple.

They’d rather wait than release something half-baked
